Rent Well Class

Learn your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, build your housing portfolio, and confidently navigate the rental landscape. Topics include:

  • Understanding landlord expectations and tenant rights
  • Communication and conflict resolution with landlords and community living
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy living environment
  • Preparing for and successfully completing a housing portfolio

One-on-One Financial Coaching

Young parent’s receive personalized guidance and support from a $tand By Me – Oregon, a financial empowerment program that through coaching and toolkits helps provide financial stability to individuals and families.

  • Tailoring your financial roadmap to your unique needs and goals
  • Addressing financial emergencies and unexpected obstacles
  • Identifying additional resources and support networks
  • Building confidence and accountability for successful financial management

Santiam House Shared Home Rental

The Santiam House program is designed to be a support for young families who need a safe place to stay within a time of transition. It’s a three bedroom, two bath child friendly home with bedding, dressers and personal storage, towels, kitchen supplies, and washer/dryer provided. One family per room with shared cleaning responsibilities, just $100 per month for up to 4 months.

Each family commits to participating in the following programs & classes while staying at the Santiam House

Family Support & Connections Parent Mentor Program
Residents will collaborate with a Parent Mentor to support the parent on their journey of building resiliency, access to resources, and sense of belonging through meaningful relationships.

One-on-One Financial Coaching
Residents will receive personalized guidance and support from a $tand By Me – Oregon, a financial empowerment program that through coaching and toolkits helps provide financial stability to individuals and families.

Rent Well Certification
Each resident will participate in the RentWell Course and certification program. This program teaches tenants rights and responsibilities, as well as how to build a housing portfolio with support as they seek long-term housing. The RentWell course will be four hours per week for four weeks.
