Managing Meltdowns

Learn ways to respond in the moment as well as get ahead of overwhelming emotions.

This updates series is based on evidence-based research and trauma informed principles, focusing on how to combat our own stress as parents. We will discuss how to break through old family patterns to create the family environment you want. We will share tools for nurturing ourselves when it feels like there’s not enough time or help.

Part 1: Understand what happens in the brain and body when our body reacts to stress as though it’s threatened, and what to do about it. We’ll start by looking at ourselves and how we respond to our kids. And then we will examine what stress looks like in our kids.

Part 2: Discuss the importance of together time and share tools for developing routines around getting where you need to get and sleep time to help you manage your day.

Part 3: Learn creative ways to respond in the moment to meltdowns at home and in other people’s spaces.
